I went with my sister Lisa. She very kindly wanted to go with me and also drove to Warwick Castle. The drive wasn’t too bad other than when we got there, we pulled into one of the car parks and spoke to the guy at the entrance to the car park if this was the right place. We had an idea that he didn’t really know but he did say yes the disabled parking just down there (pointing). So off we went and parked up, my sister wanted to do everything so I could just rest (kept telling me to do so) and be alright for the evenings entertainment. But she couldn’t quite get my instruction on how to put my scooter up (which we have named geezer). So whether it was my instructions or my sister, in the end I had to help her. My sister also had gone shopping for me to make us a picnic to take and FaceTimed me as she was shopping to double check that I could eat the particular items she had picked up. Back to the car park so after unloading the car off with go but not sure A) of where to go and B) pretty sure not in the right place. We found a young lad by the entrance gate and asked him and he told us that yes we were in the wrong area and proceeded to tell us where to go. I was so impressed with my sister because as the lad told us where to go my sister was going ah yes, ok, got it and yes got it. I thought wow she’s good at mentally taking note of directions although there wasn’t many but even so very impressed.
So off we go back to car load up the stuff and proceeded to the right car park, half way through, which was basically - out car park and follow one way system, when you get to main road and that’s where my sister says did he say right or left. I said I don’t know, after you started answering him yes, I wasn’t really taking it in but had an idea that maybe I should of and that you couldn’t be that good at taking in directions (we both laughed). She decided he had said right and off we went, in the meantime I looked up the another postcode that was on one of the other emails and put in in the car sat nav and basically told us to do a u-turn as soon as possible, which we did.
We got to the car park entrance and although we was early and they had advised no entry before 5:30pm, but as we were disabled pre-booked we was allowed in and shown where to park, but still wouldn’t be allowed in the grounds of the event till 5:30pm then the guy said he’ll see you at the entrance as he’s the guy has to sign you in (very nice man). So unloaded the car again, still had to help sister to do the scooter and we made our way to the entrance.
Sure enough the man was there with other people. When the time came, he remembered my name and called us to get the tickets scanned, so got the tickets up on my phone ready to be scanned. Like my sister always says when it comes to technology and she is involved in any way, it always seems to go wrong. Which is what happened, the tickets kept coming up not authorised so they had to get the tech guy to look into it. It wasn’t too long before it all worked out fine.
There was a platform for us to go on which was built quite close to the stage, lovely view we had. Before the show started they had Storm Troopers walking around keeping people entertained. The music was fantastic and the conductor was a character who kept you entertained throughout the show dressing up and also very knowledgeable about each piece played. The finale was spectacular with a fantastic firework show, which like my sister said Dad would have loved them.
It was a great end to a great night show, we both would love to go again. The show was great, the people very friendly and helpful also I didn’t know this but as I was on my Geezer (electric Scooter which also changes into a chair, by the way was a great feature for this event - except I forget the extra cushion for it 😔,luckily my sister had a spare cushion in the car). They let me know that about Warwick Castle they have charging points dotted around (and where they were)which is great to know.
On the way home we was coming from Waltham Abbey exit on the M25 , when my sister said we’ve made great time getting home and with that for the next 3 to 4 attempts to get home on different routes we come across road closures, hence took us about another half an hour to get home. What a great day though thanks sis xxx.
